The Big 4

My baby girl has turned 4 on December 14th. The time has passed so quickly. It is hard to believe that she has come so far. She went from: "she won't live" to "we will have to remove her leg to take the cancer out," to "she'll never walk," to now. Here she is running and dancing and being a perfect little girl. We are all so lucky to have her in our lives.
I always thought it would really 'suck' for her to have her birthday this close to Christmas but her party was beautiful. She had a tea party. All the girls wore their Christmas dresses. It was really sweet.
The only real downfall is the amount of toys that are in my house right now. They are everywhere!
There really are worse problems we could have. I really am blessed.

Little Things do Mean a lot

I had broken up with Paddy last week because he wasn't giving me the attention that I felt I needed. I am spoiled rotten and expect the world and throw tantrums when I don't get it.
I took the kids out to his cottage so I could pick up our stuff. The kids were playing on the trampoline in the yard while I was throwing our stuff into the van. It wasn't until I was done and the kids were asking to play on it that I found the tire swing Paddy had hung in the tree for me.
I called him immediately to appologize.

Hooray for CAA

I now believe that CAA should have an emergency number like 911 does. My ride home from work yesterday was not fun.
I stopped at the drive through bank machine on my way home. The power window on the drivers side of my van isn't working so I opened the door to get out to use the instant teller. The van door was blocking the screen so I shut it. Only then did I realize that the door was locked with the van running, my purse and three sets of van keys inside I am in full work uniform, and I am parked in the drive thru.
This was certainly not one of my prouder moments.
My only saving grace was that I had my cell phone in my pocket.
I immediately called everyone I knew who I thought would know how to break into a car. No luck there but fortunately, they were able to find a tow truck for me. The tow truck driver had me in my van in minutes. I am adding his number to my directory so I can call when I need him.
